Q.What to do about this error message when uploading images: http error uploading images to wordpress site.
A. In my case I was uploading a Pinterest pin that happened to be too long. I went into GIMP and reduced the length to 1900 pixels. The image size went down from 796 to 632 KB and the image uploaded.
BTW, when you upload an image, it should usually be set at Full Size. Otherwise the image will show up too small on your web page.
Q. How can I tell if my blog is WordPress.org or WordPress.com?
A. Add wp-admin to the URL on any of your blog pages. 
Mouse over the WordPress logo. You will see either 
WordPress.org or WordPress.com.
